II. Overview your schedule
Day 1: Airport pick up. Street food tour in the early evening. Overnight in Hanoi Old Quarter. (Meal: dinner)
Day 2: Hanoi – Sapa by sleeping bus. Trekking in Sapa. Overnight in Sapa (Meal: breakfast, lunch, dinner).
Day 3: Sapa – Hanoi (breakfast, lunch)
Day 4: Hanoi – Halong 2D1N cruise. (Meal: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 5: Halong – Hanoi (by shuttle bus). A private car from Hanoi center to the airport (Meal: breakfast, lunch)
Day 1: Hanoi arrival day
Inform Swan Cruises your flight number, our driver will come to pick you up from Hanoi airport to your hotel. Check in hotel.
In the afternoon, our tour guide will come and pick you up at hotel for starting street food tours.
On a 3 hours walking tour, you’ll explore the culture and history of Hanoi as you step into a world full of street food vendors. Unlike big cities all around the world, street food in Hanoi are not just hot dog carts and pretzel stands, we offer an opportunity to try out many different dishes at local food stand as well as local family restaurants. A rotating menu from day-to-day to represent the variety of delicious options, but tastings might include, but are subject to change: rice noodle soup with beef, rice noodle with chicken, rice noodle with grilled pork, snail, or dry noodle, sticky rice, along with various kinds of donut, steamed pancake or Vietnamese sandwiches.
Day 2 & Day 3: Hanoi – Sapa – Cat Cat village – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van – ONE OF THE BEST ITINERARIES IN SAPA
On the first day: A short trek to Cat Cat village
You’re picked up from the hotel in the Old quarter of Hanoi departing to Sapa. Arrive in Sapa Town with colorful traditional costumes of H’mong, Dzao, Tay ethnic People.
You’ll get a welcome drink and itinerary briefing then enjoy the lunch with local Vietnamese dishes, check-in procedures
In the afternoon, a short trek to the gate of Cat Cat village which is home of Black H’mong ethnic people and is located near the bottom of a deep valley at the foot of Fansipan Peak.
Our local guide will show you the daily life activities of the locals, trek down to the valley bottom to the waterfall where the French built a Hydraulic Power Station; stop for photo with bridge and waterfall then you will walk uphill for bus to pick up to get back to Sapa in the afternoon.
Trekking distance is about 3.5 kms and it lasts for 2 hours
Come back and have a dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, overnight in a hotel in Sapa Town center.
On the second day: Sapa – A long trek to Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Sapa – Hanoi
Have breakfast at your hotel and prepare light pack for trekking
Then trek from Sapa to Y Linh Ho then trek through the rice terraces and along Muong Hoa Stream to the Black H’mong village of Lao Chai to see the spectacular landscape of Hoang Lien Son Mountain.
12:30: Picnic lunch at Lao Chai Village then heading to Ta Van village – home of Dzay ethnic people.
End the tour in the afternoon, you are picked up to back to Hanoi city (including 1 night at Hanoi city)
Note: Trekking distance is about 12 km and it lasts for 4.5 hours
Important notes:
• Older people should not do the long trek (9 km) as it is challenging and dangerous in case of rain
• Handicapped people and children under 6 should not do the trek
• Bring warm clothes, a scarf and a hat or cap as the weather in Sapa is unpredictable. It is normally cold from September-March
• Due to the altitude in Sapa, it is sometimes foggy from December – March
• Please bring trekking shoes, sunglasses, sunblock and insect repellent
• If you do not want to attend the long Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van trek on day 2, your tour leader will help you to visit another location. You are responsible for all ticket and transportation costs
• The driver from Hanoi to Sapa and speaks very little English
